API and SDK Development

The real user of an API is the developer who uses it after you. So we write the contract before the code: what each endpoint takes and returns, what an error looks like, what happens to an old client when the version changes.

Each of our five products has its own API and SDKs; Signalbird alone publishes SDKs for JS, PHP, Python, Go, .NET, Swift and Kotlin. We bring the same discipline to client projects: contract, documentation, tests and versioning are delivered together.

We can run the API like one of our own products: rate limiting, key management, request logs, a correlation code on every response, and monitoring. When a partner says “it’s not working”, we can see within minutes which request failed and why.

Contract-first, documented, versioned REST APIs and PHP, Laravel, Node and WordPress SDKs that make them a one-line integration.

01

REST contract

Endpoints, request and response schemas and error codes written and agreed before any code.

02

Documentation

An API reference with runnable examples and a getting-started guide.

03

Versioning and backward compatibility

A new version does not break old clients; fields to be removed are announced in advance.

04

SDKs

Client libraries for PHP, Laravel, Node and WordPress; other languages when needed.

05

Authentication and limits

API key or token-based access, per-client rate limiting.

06

Logs and monitoring

Every request on record, a correlation code on every response, failures reported instantly.

    Discovery

Two or three meetings and a look at what you already run. You end up with a scope, a timeline and a price. This stage is free.

  2. 02

    Development

A working build every two weeks. The staging environment is open from day one, so you never have to take our word for progress.

  3. 03

    Launch

Data migration, training and go-live. We watch it daily for the first month.

  4. 04

    Operation

Logs and errors run through Signalbird. When something critical breaks, we usually see it before you do.

Frequently asked questions

Why write the API contract before the code?

Because the contract is the agreement between you and the teams that will use the API. Written first, mobile, web and partner teams can work in parallel, and nobody redoes their work because a field name changed later.

Which languages do you build SDKs in?

On client projects we most often write PHP, Laravel, Node/TypeScript and WordPress SDKs. For our own products we also publish Python, Go, .NET, Swift and Kotlin SDKs, and can deliver those at the same standard.

Can you fix our existing API?

Yes. We first inventory the current endpoints and measure which are used, then put a new version next to the old one without breaking existing clients and plan a gradual migration.

How do you secure the API?

Token or key-based authentication, per-client authorisation and rate limiting, input validation and logging of every request are standard. Details are on our security page.

Who runs the API?

We can. Under the maintenance and on-call model, uptime, error rate and response times are monitored and the response times in our SLA apply.
